Her parents divorced when she was young, and she grew up with her mother, a hard-working nurse. Winning a full scholarship to Lycée Saint-Aubin, she has always felt she must prove her worth to deserve the chance.
Motivation
To be recognized for what she can do — not for a scandal, and not out of pity.

From a girl afraid of being exposed as “not quite belonging,” Élise rises to face the injustice head-on — discovering her own strength and learning to believe in herself when no one else will.
